Advisory

Information for patients and families

If you have been diagnosed with liver cancer or have a family member diagnosed with liver cancer, you may like to contribute to future research and health services by reviewing grant applications or participating in the design of clinical trial and clinical services. This is an important part of research as we need to make sure that whatever happens in the future, reflects the needs and values of patients and their families.

There are many ways you can engage in this process:

– You can read grant or project proposals and provide feedback by email

– You can read grant or project proposals and participate in small group discussions with other patients. These are facilitated by a nurse from the      Centre for Community-Driven Research

– You can read grant or project proposals and discuss your experience with the research team. This would be done online via video.

Information for researchers

If your research team is developing a liver cancer study or project, the Centre for Community-Driven Research (CCDR) can facilitate community engagement in its development. There are a few simple steps to follow:

– Complete this online form that gives us a little bit of information about the project and timeline for any grant submission(s)

– CCDR will create a call for expression of interest to share with the community, and for clinician researchers within the project to share with their patients as well.

– CCDR will facilitate the feedback whether it is individual patient feedback, group feedback with other patients and/or the research team

If you have a project that you would like to engage patients and family members in, contact administration@cc-dr.org
